About the Author
Devin White is a husband, father, writer, and lifelong learner from Virginia.
He began writing Shattered Illusions in 2024 while trying to understand the changes taking place within his
family and the decline of his mother, Tracey Jean White.
What began as a private attempt to document those experiences eventually became something else after
Tracey’s death: a way to preserve her story, examine his own mistakes and growth, and perhaps help others
facing circumstances they do not know how to understand.
Devin believes difficult stories have value when they are told with honesty, including the parts that do not
present the storyteller in the best light.
He is a husband and the father of two children. Outside of writing, he enjoys creating things with his hands,
gardening, woodworking, painting, and exploring whatever new subject happens to capture his attention.
Shattered Illusions is his first published memoir.
He lives in Virginia with his family.
